Presentations of the Russian experience of indigenous peoples’ adaptation to climate change and mitigation with the background from Russian regions: Primorsky krai, Republic Sakha (Yakitia) and Kamchatka. 

Panelists:

  • Rodion Sulyandziga (Director of the Centre for the Support of indigenous Peoples of the North (CSIPN/RITC), Moscow): Adaptation of indigenous peoples to the climate change and resilience. Udege experience of the Bikin region.
  • Vyacheslav Shadrin(First vice-president of the Association of indigenous peoples of the North of the Sakha (Yakutia) republic, Yakutsk): Indigenous peoples climate change adaptation and resilience. Sakha (Yakutia) experience.
  • Victoria Sharakhmatova (Ethno-ecological information Centre Lach, Kamchatka): Traditional knowledge within the context of the climate change. Kamchatka regional experience.
  • Polina Shulbaeva (Information Centre Kogolika, Tomsk region): Climate change impacts on traditional residence and economic activities of indigenous peoples in Russia.
